Unfortunately, while early in 2006 unit sales for the entire board of Realtors were ahead of 2005 they slowed down significantly during the year and by the 4th quarter the comparison is striking. In spite of the reduced number of units sold more higher priced homes were sold which served to make the decline in average price not as steep.
