Now marking a consecutive 8 months of positive year over year comparisons, Gatlinburg area real estate sales continued their positive trend. Although more sales will certainly be reported (I had 3 transactions close on Friday that aren’t entered into the MLS yet but will be later today) the board of Realtors already has 99 reported sales for February. My forecast is that we will finish with around 110 total residential sales in February after all of the dust settles which will not only beat last year handily, but will nearly equal February 2008’s tally of 111. With the volume trend continuing upward don’t be surprised if prices soon start to move upward as well.
